So many beautiful fabrics come together in this lattice-type design, you might think you’re in a lovely cottage garden. You can use the Colorwash technique (light to dark values of large-scale prints) when choosing the fabrics, or perhaps focus on a few seasonal prints. You’ll utilize printed grid fusible interfacing to adhere the fabric pieces to and keep them straight with the geometric lattice. The interfacing does create a bit of additional stiffness to the quilt but after quilting and laundering this will soften. The interesting corner treatment is reminiscent of antique carriage quilts, where the sharper angles were cut away to not get caught in the carriage wheels.
